Summer Program

2021 SUMMER CAMP (ages 2-8)
July 5-August 27

Thank you for your interest in our summer camp. We are thrilled to be able to offer a safe and fun summer camp with extended hours this year! We are again prioritizing outdoor time whenever possible and are individualizing materials so we can provide activities and lunch/snack outdoors. As we did in the 2020 summer, we will be visiting various public parks and playgrounds. We will have a theme of each week and will offer ideas for virtual field trips in the afternoon including the zoo, art, aquarium/sea life, outer space, dinosaurs, water/weather, music/dance and earth science. ***We are currently mostly filled in all groups although we do have openings for some weeks. Feel free to reach out directly if you’d like to know what we have available for your child’s group.***

Camp Groups & Sample Daily Routine
Fees

This summer, we look forward to again exploring art and science within our Brooklyn neighborhood community. While we don’t think we can venture out as far into the boroughs as usual, we know that we can create a fun summer experience for your children. We will work to provide individualized materials and create practices that allow children to be safe while also being engaged and getting some exercise. We will be going to various playgrounds and parks and enjoying the beautiful weather as much as possible. Some ways our camp may be different than two summers ago:

  • We will likely still not be able to travel for field trips or go to the public swimming pools as has been our previous practice.
  • All lunches are individualized.
  • Children will sit further apart and we will prioritize ways to be engaged at a greater distance than is typical in our program.
  • Staff and children will wear masks.
  • Children and staff have indoor shoes and will only wear those indoors.
  • There are more individualized bathroom procedures and more cleaning and disinfecting processes.
  • We have made many changes to our indoor space for maximum coronavirus safety.

Some ways our camp is the same:

  • We will have a science/art focus
  • We will still provide opportunity for children to walk around the community and to the parks and playgrounds getting exercise and running and playing
  • We will still provide opportunities for children to engage with each other – talking and creating with each other – in a safe way.
  • We will still stimulate children’s minds and show them love and care throughout the day.

Camp Groups
We have a camp that caters to children who are 2 to 8 years of age. We anticipate dividing into three or four cohorts of a maximum of 10 children Please note that these descriptions are examples and are subject to change based on age-group enrollment. We are prioritizing outdoor time whenever possible and will be individualizing materials so we can do activities outdoors. Lunches will be provided for all children staying past 12pm and will be individual to each child as well.
